Projectplan - april 2011

• Om jezelf en ons zicht te geven in je plan(nen), vragen we je om de aanlevering van een projectplan die je met ons bespreekt.
• Dit projectplan is gebaseerd op je observaties en verzamelingen, eerder beeldend werk en/of je voorbereidend werk binnen de opleiding Artcode.
• Gebruik voor je teksten de support die van Renee hebt gekregen, zie op de blog KG/BV.
• Een plan zoals deze is geen vaststaand gegeven waar niet meer van kan worden afgeweken. Tijdens het werk kan het idee/concept, de vorm of het materiaal veranderen.
• Zie het als een voorlopig plan, maar wees wel zo concreet mogelijk, alleen dan geeft het je richting en biedt je de begeleider de mogelijkheid van relevante feedback.
• Iedere student maakt afzonderlijk een projectplan; een samenwerkingsverband met een andere medestudent is mogelijk op voorwaarde dat  ieders inbreng in het projectplan duidelijk is.


Procedure:


• Je maakt dit plan en bespreekt het de komende weken met de begeleidend docenten.
• Zodra je deze met minimaal 2 docenten hebt besproken en hun naam en commentaar in het format hebt geplaatst, zet je het op het blog. Zorg ervoor dat je naast je naam in het label tevens projectplan invult.




• Op  maandag 11 april om 9.30 uur wordt informatie gegeven over financiële zaken zoals begroting etc., 
• Daarna maak je ook een financieel plan; na goedkeuring kunt je de beschikking krijgen over een budget. Ook dit financieel plan zet je na goedkeuring tijdens de beoordeling op vrijdag 15 april op de weblog.
• Op vrijdag 15 april wordt je gehele plan, dus inclusief financieel plan, met de docenten Heddy van Asten, Jan Grolleman en Alan Boom besproken en beoordeeld, je ontvangt daarvoor een rooster.
• Ook daarna is er nog de mogelijkheid van bijstelling en wijziging.

Schrijf een analyse van het gebied, of een deel ervan, door gebruik te maken van je verworven gegevens uit de opdracht Collecting the City.

Beschrijf zo precies mogelijk hoe je project
 eruit gaat zien: verschijningsvorm, materiaal, hoeveelheid, maat, etc. Het gaat om wat je nu wilt gaan doen. In de loop van de komende weken kan voortschrijdend inzicht tot veranderingen leiden.

• Make a projectplan to understand yourself and give us information about work and development.
• The plan is based on the observations, collections of the assignment of last week or previous work.
• Use for the txts the support you got from Renee Lievens, see at the weblog KG/BV.
• A plan like this is not a fixated fact, which can’t be deviated. During the projectweeks the ide, form or material will be changed.
• The plan is a preliminary plan, but be concrete as possible. In that way it give you direction and it gives the teacher de possibility of feedback.
• Each student makes a separate projectplan, a partnership with another student  is possible, the condition is that the individual both tudents is clear.

Procedure:

• You'll make the plan and discuss it coming week with the teachers.
• When  you discussed with at least two teachers you put their names and comments on the format you'll put it on the blog. Make sure to (next to your name) add 'projectplan' in the label.



• Photographs, sketches rather than on your regular blog.
• Then start your work with your project.


- On Monday 11th April at 9.30 we will give information about financial matters, such as budget.
- Then you make a financial plan, and when we agree you can get a limited budget. Also this financial plan it at the weblog after the assessment of 15 April.
- On Friday 15 April  your complete plan, included the financial plan will be discussed in an assessment  with Heddy van Asten en Jan Grolleman. You will receive a schedule.
- Also from now on there are always possibilities to change your plan.

Week 13: Collecting the City

1.    Maak deze week een inventarisatie en verzameling van het Piushavengebied.
2.    Begin met je eigen studio en de plaats die deze in het gebied inneemt, zowel fysiek/visueel als economisch en/of cultureel.
3.    Verzamel over het Piushavengebied de feitelijke en meetbare gegevens, bekend bij o.a. de Gemeente Tilburg of het niet aan een locatie gebonden stadsmuseum www.stadsmuseum.nl
4.    Werk  naast deze ‘objectieve’ perceptie aan een meer subjectieve benadering, door
een andere van verzamelen of in te zoomen op bepaalde aspecten van het gebied.
5.    Maak met dit materiaal een samenhangend ‘beeld’ in een medium conform is/overeenkomt met het materiaal uit je onderzoek. Dit kan variëren van tekst, foto’s tot gevonden voorwerpen, een app of een serie geluidsgragmenten..
6.    Presenteer dit a.s. vrijdag 1 april op een locatie die past bij dit beeld.
7.    Je werkt in twee-of drietallen.
8.    Zoek in het werkproces naar parallellen in de kunst of vormgeving.

Bernd en Hilla Becher
Internationeel bekend voor hun zwart-witfotografie van vakwerkhuizen en vooral van industriële installaties zoals watertorens, koeltorens, gashouders en hijskranen en lifttorens van mijnen in Europa.


Week 12:  Brief 'Making the City'

(related to lecture by Teun Hocks)

- accomplish this assignment with the student[s] of the given location;
- work together on a series of photographs or short video;
- set up your own scene in [the neighbourhood of] the given location;
- you are asked to 'play with reality' and perspective;
- in the scene you must react both on:
- the given location;
- an actual event.

For the latter you can start with recent events in Japan or Libia of course, but an event more close by, even banal, is also possible. You can use a recent newspaper picture to begin with, for instance;

- the content of the scene can either be serious or hilarious, or inbetween;
- you can do more themes [current events] than one - if you have time for this - but there has to be a meaningful relation between the photographs and/or video;
- find or make your own attributes, going with the location, and the 'story' you wish to tell;
- at least one of the students must play a role in the images you make;
- presentation of the results next Friday – you will be informed about where and when.
